Chemical safety of food contact materials

  • Evaluation of the chemical safety of different materials intended to come into contact with food, such as plastics and coatings among others, including biodegradable ones.
  • Development of analytical methods for the determination of chemical substances such as monomers, starting substances, additives, as well as substances not added intentionally, NIAS (e.g., degradation products, reaction products, etc.) used in the manufacture of food contact materials.
  • Study of the key parameters related to the mathematical modeling of migration: migration kinetics, determination of diffusion and partition coefficients of model migrants into food products.
