11th Shelf Life International Meeting SLIM (Reggio Emilia, Italy)

A semana pasada, integrantes do grupo FoodChemPack asistiron ao 11th Shelf Life International Meeting (SLIM) que tivo lugar en Reggio Emilia, Italia.

👩🏽‍🔬 A doutoranda Lara Pazos presentou o seu póster titulado “In vitro stability and oral bioaccessibility of bisphenol A diglycidyl ether from epoxy-based coatings used in food cans”, no que destacou os resultados das interaccións con aminoácidos presentes no atún dentro do proxecto BACFood4Expo.

👩🏽‍🔬 A doutoranda Sandra Mariño participou cunha comunicación oral titulada “From orange by-products to edible and active films using electrohydrodynamic atomization”, onde presentou os resultados do seu traballo desenvolvido no International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory (INL) de Braga (Portugal) dentro do proxecto ValICET.

👩🏽‍🔬 A investigadora posdoutoral Antía Lestido presentou un póster titulado “Tentative identification of non-volatile compounds in a biodegradable bio-based packaging material using a non-targeted method”, no que se analizaron pellets con base de polihidroxibutirato (PHB). Ademais, presentou outro póster titulado “Investigating the chemical safety of bamboo-based food contact articles: a case study”, no que se analizaba unha mostra comercial de bambú na que se identificou melamina.

👩🏽‍🔬 A profesora Letricia Barbosa contribuíu co seu póster titulado “Nanoencapsulation of polyphenols yielded from lime by-products for functional food applications”, no que se empregou a técnica innovadora de nanospray-drying dentro do proxecto ValICET.

👩🏽‍🔬 A profesora Raquel Sendón contribuíu cos pósteres “Analysis of volatile compounds in bamboo-based food contact articles using purge and trap gas chromatography-mass spectrometry” e “Non-targeted GC-MS method to identify semi-volatile compounds in bamboo-based biomaterials”, ambos pertencentes ao proxecto nacional MIGRABIOQUANT, en colaboración coa Agencia Española de Seguridad Alimentaria y Nutrición (AESAN).

👩🏽‍🔬 A profesora Ana Rodríguez participou cunha Keynote Lecture titulada “Chemical safety and risk assessment on bioplastics for food contact” na sesión correspondente a Trends in packaging materials development, onde fixo unha revisión bibliográfica sobre materiais de base biolóxica e/ou biodegradables.

Ademais, dentro das actividades organizadas polo congreso, tiveron a oportunidade de visitar as compañías Italpizza, Villani Salumi, Barilla e Acetaia Giusti, así como asistir a unha experiencia Parmigiano Reggiano
